Ep.1/ THE DESERT
Journal Prompt: What Is Your Desert Teaching You?
Still yourself. Take a deep breath. Feel your feet grounded on holy ground.
Now ask:
🌵 What are you being asked to surrender right now?
🏜️ Where in your life do you feel stripped, quieted, or alone?
🔥 What part of you is being refined—not punished, but prepared?
✨ What is your wilderness whispering that your busy season never let you hear?
Write a letter to your future self—the version of you that made it through this desert.
Tell her what you’re learning now that will sustain her later.
Mantra:
I surrender so my soul may grow. I trust what the desert is developing in me.
Self-Full™ Podcast – Episode 1 Recap
I started this podcast in the middle of my own wilderness. Not the metaphorical kind. The real kind—103 degrees, dry winds, and silent nights. I was in Arizona. But I was also in a spiritual desert… one that stripped me down to my soul.
This episode is about that place. The desert season—where distractions are removed, illusions are burned off, and obedience is the only option. Where God doesn’t yell—He whispers. And you can finally hear Him because everything else is quiet.
I shared how grief and caregiving became my wilderness teachers. My mom’s transition in February wasn’t just a loss; it was a lesson. In love. In legacy. In letting go. The desert taught me what surrender really means—not giving up, but yielding so that your soul has space to grow.
“To surrender so the soul grows is to yield to another demand so that the essence of you becomes greater.”
I talk about obedience, sacrifice, and why wandering doesn’t mean you’re lost—it means you're learning. I broke down the Hebrew word for wilderness, which literally means “to speak.” Because that’s what God does in the desert—He speaks. And baby, if you’re quiet enough, you just might hear Him calling you back to yourself.
